Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Join our dynamic team of educational professionals supporting deaf and hard of hearing students in virtual learning environments. We're seeking a skilled sign language interpreter to facilitate munication and ensure educational accessibility for students across various grade levels.

Position Overview

This remote interpreting position involves providing real-time sign language interpretation services for students in virtual classroom settings. You'll work directly with students, teachers, and support staff to ensure seamless munication during online instruction, maintaining the integrity of educational content while adapting to diverse learning styles and munication needs.

Schedule : 35-37.5 hours per week Grade Levels : K-12 (varied assignments) Student Caseload : 15-25 students across multiple virtual classrooms Format : Live virtual interpretation via secure educational platforms

Core Responsibilities

• Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language
• Facilitate clear munication during virtual lessons, assemblies, and educational meetings
• Adapt interpretation techniques for different grade levels and subject matter plexity
• Collaborate with teachers to ensure curriculum accessibility and student prehension
• Maintain professional boundaries while supporting student engagement in virtual environments
• Document interpretation sessions and municate relevant student needs to educational teams
• Participate in IEP meetings and educational planning sessions as required

Essential Qualifications

• EIPA Score : Minimum 3.5 required (4.0 preferred)
• Experience : 2 years of school-based interpreting experience required
• Technical Skills : Proficiency with video conferencing platforms and educational technology
• munication : Strong interpersonal skills for working with diverse educational teams
• Flexibility : Ability to adapt interpretation style for various age groups and subjects

Preferred Qualifications

• 4.0 EIPA score or higher
• Written EIPA certification
• RID/NIC certification with written examination
• Experience with virtual/remote interpretation services
• Familiarity with educational terminology and curriculum standards
