GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
Under the direction of the Human Resources Business Partner, the Regional Human Resources Generalist performs people function responsibilities related to: implementation of HR strategies; plan, organize, implement, and monitor talent management and employee relations; provide guidance and direction in compensation, benefits, and performance matters; and support internal staffing and/or succession management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Handles employment-related inquiries, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
-Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
-Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
-Maintain frequent and effective communication with Regional Leader and other regional managers to apprise on all critical activities.
-Provide counsel, feedback and coaching on issues process, and all people related actions.
-Conduct new hire orientations and secure complete documentation for new hires including payroll related documentation. Ensure all other HR documentation (for example, disciplinary notices) is provided to corporate HR in a timely fashion.
-Oversee payroll and time reporting processes for the region, ensuring accurate and timely submission of payroll.
-Coordinate with Home Office HRIS to ensure that all personnel data in HRIS system is accurate.
-Conduct exit interviews and secure all termination-related documentation.
-Review policies and procedures with staff and managers as needed and answers questions. Counsel individual employees within established guidelines.
-Report all harassment matters immediately to Home Office; ensure appropriate actions are taken and monitor/record results.
-Implement the regional office's safety plan and respond to and document emergencies or injuries involving employees, volunteers or students at the regional office or its sites. Follow up on workers' compensation claims as requested.
-Attend meetings and provide scheduled or as-requested reports and updates on deadline.
-Maintain highest degree of confidentiality.
-Ensure all regional required Compliance postings are current and placed in the appropriate locations.
-Ensure all appropriate hardcopy and electronic regional personnel and payroll records are transferred to the Employee File of Record in a timely manner.
-Report all incidents of potential employment violations immediately to the Director of Human Resources.
-Conduct internal investigations as may be necessary and ensure appropriate actions are taken in a timely manner.
-Implement regional worker health and safety plans. Provide local support on Workers Compensation claims as requested.
-Maintain highest degree of confidentiality in student, staff, and management matters.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE:
-Bachelor's Degree is required.
-3 years' experience in a human resource function including experience with hiring processes, legal compliance, and decision support.
-3 years working knowledge of ADP Payroll, preferred.
-5 years minimum of HR experience with strong working knowledge of California State and Federal employment law, regulations to include Wage & Hour, Title VII, FLMA, CFRA, ADA.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites
-Exceptional organizational skills.
