Job Description

The Director of Marketing & Communications is an integral part of the overall team that is charged with advancing the mission of Lancaster Catholic High School. Job Description: As a member of the Advancement team, the Director of Marketing & Communications will work in tandem with all other staff to achieve the strategic objectives of the Office of Advancement. This professional will be responsible for assisting in both marketing to prospective families (enrollment) as well communication, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of alumni, parents, friends, donors and prospects by producing direct mail, print productions, online/social media, video and other communications that require strong writing skills, project management skills and creativity. The Director of Marketing & Communications works in close collaboration with the President, Director of Advancement & Director of Admissions. The Director of Marketing & Communications assists with both revenue and non-revenue events and projects of the Office of Advancement, as well as other tasks as assigned. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: General Supports and promotes the mission, vision and core values of Lancaster Catholic High School. Develops and executes Lancaster Catholic's integrated marketing initiatives. Manages Lancaster Catholic's presence on social media. Be the protector of the Lancaster Catholic "brand/mission" by ensuring all communications adhere to style guide and brand qualities. Manages public relations within local media. Develops strong outreach programs that engage a wide variety of constituencies in helping Lancaster Catholic High School fulfill its mission and vision. Creates video & info-graphic content for website, social media, and digital publications. Manages Lancaster Catholic's website and email communications. weekly parent e-Newsletter ("Crusader Connection") and other email communications. Performs other duties as assigned by the President, Director of Advancement and Director of Admissions. President Support the President in the production, editing and distribution of communications from the Office of the President. Board of Directors Support the Board of Directors in various ways, such as keeping Board Work Space on the website up to date. Advancement Strategically develop print and digital communication initiatives that inform parents, students, alumni and donors about all that is happening at Lancaster Catholic that result in greater number of donors and financial resources to school. o Marketing communications includes direct mail, social media, electronic communications and various printed communications. Writes and coordinates LCHS' two major publications, Annual Report/Summer Magazine & Winter Magazine, for large distribution as well as digital versions. Ensures all activities are thoroughly and effectively integrated into and coordinated with annual fundraising and external relations programs of Lancaster Catholic High School. Maintain professional affiliations and enhance professional growth by keeping abreast of latest trends in Advancement for the benefit of Lancaster Catholic High School. Creates marketing strategies for donor engagement. Manages Lancaster Catholic's monthly e-Newsletter ("Catholic Highlights") and other donor-related emails. Collect more "Class Notes" information from alumni. Admissions Partners with the Director of Admissions to design and execute an effective Admissions marketing campaign. Creates marketing strategies for enrollment management, including video and written testimonials from various constituent groups. Manages Lancaster Catholic's weekly parent e-Newsletter ("Crusader Connection") and other Admissions-related emails. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university or college in Business, Marketing or a related field. A minimum of 4 years' experience in public relations, marketing or advancement, with a demonstrable track record of success. Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities: High level of motivation and ability to achieve goals. Organize and establish priorities effectively. Ability to develop fundraising and budgeting plans, think creatively and strategically, and manage multiple areas of activity simultaneously. Demonstrates strengths and success in leading and managing projects, processes and volunteers. Possesses skills to navigate various social media platforms, design software and websites. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience writing successful proposals, good computer skills, excellent knowledge of technology integration and working knowledge of advancement databases. A working style that is self-directed and organized. Communicate effectively in both written and oral formats. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and an ability to write effectively under pressure. Strong self-motivation and a team-player approach. The ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends during special event preparation is necessary. Proficiency in the following software packages desired: o Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) o Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premier Pro) o Student Management Systems (SchoolAdmin, Rediker) o Email Marketing Software (Constant Contact) o Social Media Management Tools (HootSuite) o Online Publishing Tools (Issuu) Lancaster Catholic High School offers competitive compensation and an excellent benefit package including a comprehensive healthcare program and a 401k plan.
